With just a week to ZuneSpring Live returns from it’s two month slumber, I decided it was time to do what must be done. There were a few problems with the way the podcast has been ran over the last two years. For starter it’s site and updating mechanism existed on an entirely separate WordPress installation that was online a full year before the rest of ZuneSpring.com made the leap. Because of this the site was hardly ever updated and had all sorts of feed and design issues. I’ve now integrated it into the rest of the site meaning only one WordPress installation, and a nearly ubiquitous look. Second we’re now also on the iTunes Store. I personally felt that being just on Zune was limiting our audience. Problem solved. Anywho check out the new ZuneSpring Live area at live.ZuneSpring.com , and tell me what you think. Also don’t forget to update your feeds!

Update As with earlier app releases this is a slow roll out. If you can’t see the app in your Zune software or on your device don’t worry. You should be able to see it soon.

In the interest of transparency I wanted to update you guys on how the site move is going. As of right now, both the main website and the forums are back online. At the current time we’re waiting for the search system, photo galleries, and our mail server before we’re back to 100%. I’ll update you when the happens sometime later today. We are music. We are the social. We are ZuneSpring.

10:59 am The Photos area is now back online as well. Any moment we’ll be at 95%, this is if we can get Search up and running.

9:23 pm Email is up now bringing us to 95% active. Unfortunately the search system is beyond repair. I’ll take a look at that more closely tomorrow. In the mean time enjoy the faster loading times on the site!

I’ve gotten a few emails from concerned ZuneSpring users about how much I talk up and encourage other Zune related communities and not my own. That’s actually a fair assessment, and it’s something I hope to do a better job of in the future. So it’s Friday night, I’m getting ready to set ZuneSpring.com on autopilot, but before I can, I decide to take a gander at “Switched On: ZuneForSure”. I think you know, Dear Reader, exactly where this is going. Columnist Ross Rubin digs in deep for this week’s edition of his weekly column. He carefully paints a picture of Microsoft wasting time and money to achieve something It had already managed to do before. It’s an interesting read if I do say so myself. It’s also nearly total BS.
